Hi,

I am visiting HK with my family including my 9 mth old baby whom I still breastfeeding. ( We're from Singapore)

May anyone can provide me with any information where are the places I can find "nursing rooms" or any special ettiquette I need to take note like; I can't breastfeed at a cafe etc...

Secondly, may I know where can I get "bottled organic baby food" ??? Are they easily available at marts like Wellcome, etc...???

Please advise.

Hi Dejuvu,
I have been breastfeeding for a year now. I have breast fed just about every where and never had any issues. In my experience as long as you're discreet there shouldn't be any problems. However, I do know of people who have been asked to move or stop feeding. I know the hotel lobbies are a good place to feed and have guaranteed air conditioning.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

bottled organic food: tons available at bumos to babes (5/f pedder bldg in central), also some at parknshop at parkview

help! any updated nursing rooms in Hong Kong? Just found Ikea at Causeway Bay which is very nice. A separate room with a changing table and even a single bed and chair.

Hi,

I've never had any problems breastfeeding in HK- if baby is hungry when we are out and about, I usually head for the nearest Starbucks or Pacific Coffee and try to get one of their sofas. Have also had to nurse in McDonalds (was desperate)- although my husband was quite glad of excuse to order a big mac!

Never had a problem breastfeeding anywhere in HK. Do use a mayawrap, so the entire process can be hidden, though.

I breastfeed everywhere in public in HK - I just try and get it started as quickly as possible so there is minimum boob exposure. No one seems to mind. Better than having a screaming hungry baby near you, I should think.
