Breast Pump Rental - Industrial strength!

Hi

Wondered if anyone could recommend a place to rent a really strong, efficient breast pump. I have purchased the Medela, but with cracked nipples I can't use it for the time it takes to pump. Need to get one of those larger ones than you would normally rent from a hospital that can pump all you need in 5 or so mins. Unfortunately my local hospital didn't know what I was talking about.

Anyone know the brand names of the larger strength ones and where to get them?

Thanks.

PS: Have looked up older threads but they seem a bit out of date and links not working. :thanks

Hi Tutor1,

I am using the Symphony (medela) which is the latest model and has this mode that stimulates your breasts prior to pumping. It is a double pump and quite efficient. However, you will not be able to pump and get all you need in 5 mins, I usually pump for 30 mins in order to get 4 oz. and sometimes, I pump for 45 mins which is the cycle time set in the machine so that I can get every last drop.

To ease sore nipples, you should get some creams, I use the Purelan100 by Medela, but I have been told that you can put a little olive oil on cotton wool and put it over your nipples when you wear your bra.

Hope this helps

I placed my order to rent the Symphony from Meridian for this baby. For relief, I like Lanisoh cream, you don't have to wipe it off for breastfeeding (although I still like to wipe it off).
