Brand compatibility

This may be a silly question, but do different brands of products work and fit together? I plan to buy an Avent IQ steriliser and Avent bottles, and also a Medela Swing breast pump.

Has anyone tried the following:

1. Sterilise Medela pumps in Avent sterilisers.
2. Expressed directly into Avent bottles using a Medela breast pump.

You can fit the medela pump parts into Avent Steriliser, but don't think you can use the avent bottles on the Medela pump cos the neck is much smaller on the medela bottles which fit the pump.

I used Pigeon bottles for the medela pump and they fit perfectly in the avent steriliser.

Avent Converter Ring for Medela

If you search online, Avent sells a converter ring to fit a medela pump onto Avent bottles. Never used it myself. Always used to empty the milk from the medela bottle into a freezer bag and from that into an avent bottle for feeding.
Is it just me or has anyone also wondered why Medela don't sell teats for their bottles so you can feed using them? This has always confused me!

I have avent steriliser and used medela pump but fed using Bfree bottles. Just store your milk in Medela storage bottles or milk storage bags and transfer the milk to your preferred feeding bottle when necessary.
