hi , i'm not sure where this thread belongs to.... I"m looking for water bottles that are suitable for adults to carry around.
Where can i get BPA free bottles for adults in HK?

any help appreciated.

i see them at jusco. big BPA free stickers on them, i think the brand is 'nalgene'. you can also get them from shops selling camping bags and jackets.

Hi

When all the drama started with the baby bottles a couple of years ago, there was a lot of info on the internet about which "numbers" were safe. Plastic bottles have a triangle (usually) and a number on the bottom of them and there was information about which numbers corresponded to BPA free. I would suggest that if the adult water bottle is not labeled as BPA free, that you go by the numbers (and do a google search to check which numbers you should avoid).

As I recall, the chance of BPA leeching is higher if the contents of the bottle are hot (as is the case for babies formula) compared with cold drinks - depending on whether you are expecting to carry cold or hot water in your bottle.

thanks will check out Jusco this weekend.

read that some of the we are supposed to avoid the Nos 7 at the bottle but also read conflicting advice about all the numbers. Hoping to make my life a little easier and get one with a big fat sticker on it!!

thanks all.

I got one today from Wing On. Its pink and flowery (for my daughter) and I got one for myself a few weeks ago in white. The brand is called Aladdin. And it cost me $55.20 (original $69). I think Jusco sells them as well but not too sure if it is the same price.

Hope that helps

You can also get metal bottles from some camping stores. They are lightweight and avoid the plastic thing altogether.

Check out Escapade in Causeway Bay. They carry the new SIGG bottles which are BPA free. I think they also have some other brands that might be BPA free as well.

I got a nalgene from citysuper ifc, it's labelled BPA free. Actually stainless steel bottles are all BPA free if I remember correctly after reading a related article.

oh this is even better. i can go to central tom, dont need to wait till the weekend to check it out. i used to have a Sigg but the BPA scare put me off Siggs for a while.

I might try Nalgene.
