Hi Sally123,
I had a regular scan and also a 3D picture taken. My doctor (Dr Dawkins) indicated that our babee was a boy with 80% confidence by looking at the regular scan images. I have looked at the DVD a few times of the 12 week scan and there does appear to be willie! We did have the sex confirmed again at 18 weeks! We also saw our babee in 4D at our detailed scan at 21 weeks.

Maria - we're in the same boat. Dr Dawkins pointed out a rather obvious willie at my 12 week scan yesterday! I did some research on the net and apparently one study showed it's 80 per cent accurate at this time, and another showed it's 98 per cent!
If you watch my video you can see the organ in question quite unmistakably... And to think I'd only come up with girls' names!

be careful pinemarten... they sometimes change the due date because of the scans...
do you know "for sure" when your baby was conceived?
with my first they kept changing it because he always measeured 2 weeks small.. i had to convince the doctors that i knew EXACTLY when my son was conceived and that the original due date was accurate. it's a good thing too. he was born 3 weeks early(they consider 37 weeks to be full term... so he was full term, but 1 day!!)
if i'd not convinced them of his true due date, they could possibly have treated him as a premie(sp?)

hey, thanks for the warning. Two weeks is a pretty big gap!
In our case the discrepancy was only of two days, and brings it more in line with what we thought. We knew the conception date within a three day range (we "tried" over the three days after I saw the line on the ovulation surge test). Since the surge comes before the actual ovulation, it's more likely the conception happened a two days after it, rather than on the first day we tried - which is what the scans suggest.
In our case the discrepancy was only of two days, and brings it more in line with what we thought. Hello, to all that I saw on Monday. Just back from the doctor, am at 16 weeks and four days - and it's most likely a boy. Even I could see that little thing between the legs! Ah well, maybe next time I can get a little girl. So all is happy and healthy, we are really pleased .

Congratulations was nice too meet you all on monday, fingers crossed I will be able to find out on saturday but only at 12 weeks.

Don't you all go counting your chickens (or willies) - have just heard of one mistake in this area of prediction (not me - but now I do think I have to go and have another scan to be sure - I'm going to be annoyed if I've spent hours knitting pink cardigans for a boy...)
