Hi there,
Our little daughter was born just over a week ago at 24.5 weeks, she is doing well and is stable but i would really like to chat to anyone who has been through this process. I would love to hear feedback on how it turns out and to gather that insight from anyone who knows the agnony of this situation.
Thanks so much

hello kathy
i am so glad to hear that your daughter is thriving.

my children were born at 26 weeks at queen mary back in 2004. they stayed for three months. i would love to meet with you any time and talk about the NICU tango and the aftereffects.

if i can offer you one piece of unsolicited advice: please, although every fibre of your being wants to be near your wee girl, you have been through an emotionally traumatising time. do rest.

bye for now

hang in there

Hi

My boy was born at 27 weeks at 879 grams 2 months ago. He was in NICU for 6 weeks and now in special care. He can probably go home in 2-3 weeks time. I know exactly how it feels to have a premmie with all the tubes and different tests going on. The doc always tells me their progress can go up and down but overall they are making progress and they are strong fighter.

If your baby is in Queen Mary we can meet up and talk as I go there everyday to see my baby.

Thanks so much ladies for your feedback and i would love to talk to you, maybe you can pm me your no's? Our little girl is in princess margaret, she weighed a tiny .625 so i think she will be there for a while yet, would love to chat though - thanks again

Congratulations on the birth of your little girl! What a drama it must have been, and I'm sure you're in for a long road. I hope you find some support and that the hospital looks after you as well as the baby. I have heard plenty of stories of early babies like this who have grown up and thrived but I know it's hard in the first months and years.

(Sorry I can't speak from firsthand experience.)

Hi,
My daughter is now 9 months old and she was born at 750 gms . its a tough road when you walk thru the NICU doors and all I want to say is that hang in there - you're not alone . I've walked this road not long back and if you'd like to chat or just want a shoulder to lean on- pleeeeeease call me anytime . My number is 61 86 59 56 .

Just keep your chin up and I'll be praying for your lil' doll and you.

Hello Kylie,

Our "little" boy was a comparatively huge 1295g, and is now 4.5 years old, so maybe I can help out with the "long" view of things.

I see that you are in Discovery Bay - so am I. Will PM you my number, happy to lend support and an ear.

Take care.
