Bo Ying Dan Chinese medicine

Has anyone given their baby Bo Ying Dan? My friend's mother suggested this. She said many people give this to their babies to help with gas and many other things. She says it helps the babies to settle down.

I am for Chinese medicine, but just not sure about giving anything to a baby.

i don't give my bb any 'commercial'/'ready made' chinese medicine. instead i give her 'fresh' stuff ... meaning if she has too much heat i'll give her bamboo-sugar cane juice diluted w/ water or make some 'hoi nai cha', (that you can get from chinese med store for about $10, and use that to mix w/ her formula for a couple of days. the hoi nai cha is some gentle herbs to help detox the GI system. it's esp. for babies. poo is extra smelly after she has this.

I am giving my baby this same medicine, and I find it does help to settle him. He also had some phlegm from heatiness and this alleviated the raspy throat....was told not to give him hoi nai cha until he's 3 months, and meanwhile I found the bo yong dan helped.

konrads mom makes a good point. i BF my bb until about 11 months old then switched to formula. she's now 14 mos.
