Blood Test: Progesterone

Hi,
I went for my first blood test last week to find out my progesterone level and the result was that there wasn't any significant change in the level in my blood, indicating that I wasn't ovulating when I was supposed too. I am planning to go for another blood test this week. Should I be worried about the possibility that I am not ovulating? Thank you.

When you say you weren't ovulating when 'you were supposed to' can you clarify what you mean be that? Do you mean you weren't ovulating around day 14 since your last period or something else? If the former, lots of women do not ovulate at the 'normal' time, you may ovulate earlier or later. I don't know your circumstance but often the purpose of measuring progesterone/oestrogen levels is to find out when you are ovaluting (and of course if you're not) so that you have a better chance of conceiving. A good friend tried for years to conceive before finally discovering she ovulated only about 5 days after her period (so very unusual). Once she found this out she fell pregnant the next month, she now has 3 boys. If you are not ovulating it may be just you are not ovaluting every month rather than not at all. If you have a good fertility specialist they should explain alll this to you and the implications and if necessary treatments. Good luck with trying to conceive...

Day 2 Harmone Profile

Hello
Thank you all for your detailed information and I feel a lot better now. I had to go to the clinic again for another blood test and this time it is for the Day 2 Harmone Profile as today is the second day of my period. I had a chance to ask one of the nurses at the clinic about my concern and she also explained that women may not ovulate every month. Not ovulating this month doesn't mean that I won't ovulate next month, so I guess I just have to keep trying.
Has anybody gone for such a test? Does anybody know anything about it because I really would like to know more about it?Thanks very much.

Pregnacare vs. Materna

Hi
I have been taking Pregnacare and would like to know if anybody knows what is the big difference between Pregnacare and Materna. Which one is better or they are equally good?
Does anybody take Pregnacare out there? If you do, do you know where I can get the best deal?
Thanks very much.
