Blocked Nose

My 8 months old twins are suffering from blocked nose which has been disturbing their sleeps most nights. I have been rubbing 'Mentholatum cherry chest rubs' bought from the Watson's which is not too helpful.
Any solution for this anyone?

We used nasal spray which contained a saline solution. We also used vapour rub (you need to make sure it is suitable for babies) and Karvol.

Our excellent pediatrician back in NYC showed us this trick. You need an "adult ear syringe" which is just this rubber bulb but so precious, am looking for one here in HK! Anyway, you take a drop of saline into the bulb, then drop on tiny drop in each nostrril and then with the bulb (ear syringe) you suck the offending blockage out. The adult ear syringe works heaps better than the conventional little bulbs they sell for babies.

I often use a humidifier when my children have blocked noses and coughs, to my surprise despite living in a humid climate it really does help keep the airways clear especially in the dryer monthsor if you use aircon alot.
