Can anyone reccommed a good blender to make pureed baby food, and where I can get one from. I only want a small one, most of the ones I have seen are too big. Thanks

Hi,
Bumps to Babes have a range of blenders in Ap Lei Chau. I use the Braun hand blender which is great. I got mine in Wing On.

Rosewood,

The Braun hand held blenders are the best. They're also available at Fortress. Here's a pic.

i rave about the braun hand blenders any chance i get so i had to pipe up! it's the most perfect little machine.

silly question!! is this because you prefer to puree fresh fruits and/or vegetables instead of using the jarred ready to eat baby food?

thanks

Freezing solids

Thank you for introducing the Braun hand held blender. I just bought the new 600 watt braun blender (which has 15 speed) and it is superb!

One question (although might sound a little silly):-

When freezing solid food; i.e. pureed carrot, apple, etc, I will put them in an ice cube tray, which has maybe 6 little compartments. However, I couldn't seem to just take out one single cube. I had to pour some hot water over the tray in order for the solid to come out from the tray. And, all the purred ice cubes will then melt alittle. Will the remaining 5 cubes be okay if I put them back in the freezer after it has melted a little? Or what is the proper way to do it?

Thanks!

Hi Har-loi,

It is much easier if you use Ziplock freezer bags to store your ice cube purees, then you can just take out how many cubes you need. I've read that if the cubes are kept in an airtight bag, they will keep better for longer.

I'm having trouble finding Ziplock freezer bags. Has anyone seen them lately? If not, can I use just the standard ziplock bags for freezing solids? Thanks.
