Birthday gift for 3 year old boy

Last year we gave our little guy a few Thomas the Tank Trains and Bob the Builder vechiles. He's now 4 and still enjoys playing with his Bob the Builder playset, but Thomas has been replaced with vechicles from the movie Cars.

At 3 my son too enjoyed playingwith the thomas train track set. He still plays with them at 4and1/2. He also loves building with blocks (3-5 yr old lego blocks), keeps him busy for ages.
Do you know if the boy likes books ? My son loves books and i am as fond of the topsy+tim series as he is. Books always make great gifts - you could try to find out his favourite character and get him books. You get books of every character these days - sesame street/barney. I even saw a "CARS" book at the "book buddy" store next to toys R us in ocean terminal.

:bighug I have just bought my nephew a LeapPad. I bought one for my 4 year old and he loves it. Like the other replies, he is mad about Thomas and they have a Thomas book. Although my nephew is only 3 and the start age for the LeapPad is 4 I believe that he will have fun just listening to the story and playing some of the games.
