Bedding for Allergy Suffering Baby and Toddler

Hi Everyone,

My 16 month old daughter and 3 year old son are both suffering from allergies (coughing, runny nose going on for months now). We and the doctors suspect that the allergy is to dust and dust mites. Does anyone know where I can buy crib/cot mattress protectors that also prevent dust mites? I know where to get them in the US, but I have no idea if any of the baby stores sell them here in Hong Kong? Please help!
 
try the high power vacuum cleaner

if you dont mind a pricey vacuum cleaner (from HK$20000 - $30000), you may try. it should be quite effective for removing mites from mattress or sofa.
 
You can get mattress protectors in Wing On, and I think have seen them in Ikea as well.

I did a demo of the Rainbow vacuum years ago. It's amazing how much dust it manages to suck up even after using a regular vacuum. I remember my helpers jaw dropped when she heard the salesman tell us the price. Before we could make a decision our helper asked to borrow the $25k. :)

The Dyson vacuum are supposed to be really powerful too. Have you looked into those?
 
The rainbow is a worthwhile investment! My daughter had awful eczema and she is very allergic to dust. I have been using rainbow every other day to clean the air and vacuum, the amount of dust it sucks up is unbelievable. This is despite us keeping our windows shut and just turning on the a/c.
I think it really played a huge role in improving my child's skin condition and our health too!
