Be careful- Sharing of worse agency (Thaxkful) & maid!

Just want share bad experience to all Geo Mum here, I hired the Phil DH (Ruby B. Padxlla) by Thxnkful-Ann Chxn, I terminated her as emotional problem & unsatisfactory performance. l settled the final payment to Ruby at her last day according to labour ordinance in hk, but the agency failed to come over here for witness. (Supposed she will provide door to door service to us.) Ruby left our home in peace, my mum has also asked her to take a meal before she go.

After terminated Ruby, I have kept asking agency Ann Chxn to provide new DH info for my replacement, but only provide few candidates a month, actually not really help you to find replacement. 2 weeks after, I received the letter from Labour Department claiming that I was underpaid to Ruby, she has raised the claim there and need me to go for final settlement. I was very doubtful that why Ruby left us in peace, but next step made us a claim like this? Agency Ann Chxn never contact me after knew I would like to terminate Ruby, she is totally not a responsible agency.

Does anyone guess who moved Ruby to make this claim? Suppose Ruby can only be permited to stay in hk 14 days after termination, now she can stay here at least one month longer as Labour Department's case not be solved.

I had never met such worse agency & maid before, I did took a lesson from it.
 
Do you have a receipt signed by Ruby monthly as proof that she is not underpaid? if yes, then just show it to labour.

I terminated my helper too and there is no need to call the agency, i mean, they won't go to your house as witness. I guess it's between you and Ruby.
 
I also terminated my helper before, it's smooth & no dispute at all. This time I also have sufficient signed & accepted documents on hand, the reason, why I asked the agency to come as a witness, is preventing such worse agency to refuse provide replacement service to me. Some worse agency will use it as an excuse to refuse offer another replacement maid even they guaranteed 2yrs replacement of maid.

I was shared my bad experience here so as to warn other Mum not to be a foolish consumer like me. I paid the agency fee for the unsatisfied maid but no replacement is provided for me, what so called "2yrs guaranteed of replacement" is absolutely a nonsense. I have no choice to pay one more time agency fee to another new agency for 2nd replacement.

Hunter, if I could have knew the agency is too bad like this before I paid, apparently I can simply choose the another, but I already paid & supposed going to enjoy their service including the replacement of maids, then how come?.......what next then?.......For me, pay again to another and share the bad experience to relief myself a bit.

Hi theo,

Join the club - there are tons of bad agencies and bad "helpers". I have also had the experience similar to yours.

The good thing is if your former helper's case is not resolved, she would not be able to work in Hong Kong, until it is resolved. Therefore, it doesn't matter how long she stays here, so long as the case is not resolved, my understanding is that the HK government will not allow her to process another work visa to work here...so too bad for her.

I'm in the process of hiring a domestic helper as our current one is ending her contract soon. Can anyone recommend an agency that you've tried and liked? Pls pm details thanks.
