Band one local school

Do u mean ESF? sorry for my ignorant..Im new to HK and Im not familiar with hk education system.

Can you name a few primary school that is under band one

Where can I get the information on the list of schools that is under band one

I once tried to get such a list from the EMB (Education & Manpower Bureau) and was told there is no more officially banded schools. Instead, they said banding exists within the school....

Hah!

loupou is right. they don't officially tell you which one is in band one. so there's no way of knowing. what i meant by "English schools" was, englishs as the medium of teaching for local schools. "local schools" meaning they fall in the EMB system - central student distribution. as for ESF they don't fall into that category, ESF are considered international schools. for local schools, school fees are cheap, cos they need to meet the exam, student distribution, etc requirement of the EMB. & they're subsidised.

I asked my friend who is a local secondary school teacher about this, and she told me that Eugene sells a book that lists out the schools and which band they are in every year. But I think it will be in Chinese.......

Hi,
Everyone, I found that there are a lot of parents worrying about the education and there are a lot of questions.

I used to be a primary school and now i am working for education deparmtnet. I am here for you to ask me any questions. I believe i can't answer all of your questions but I will try my best as I know exactly how parents feel when they're confused with the education system here!!

If you have any questions, please email to [email protected] and hopefully i can answer your question with my knowledge.
