My baby boy is 4 months old and he's exclusively breastfeeding. I noticed a thing very wierd these few days. In the morning, his face isvery clear and fine, but after he takes his afternoon nap, his left face will appear an area of rash, is a little bit swollen and rough in texture. but after I apply Vaseline, and by evening time, it will diminish, and then gradually in the evening dminish again. But then later it will appear again. if I touch him, he does not show any signs of discomfort.

Will it be allergic to my breastmilk content? But I tried my best to avoid seafood and some cow's product, I did not drink milk/yogurt/cheese already, only when I drink a cup of tea, I add a littl emilk. But this rash only appears on his face everytime in the same spot.

Pls advice.

Regards
Babi

Hi babi77,

My baby girl is also 4 mths old and she has little rash on and off like yours. I am bf her exclusively as well. But mine doesn't appear in the same place but rather here and there on the face; it looks minor to me although it feels rough.
I dont know if this would work for you but it was suggested by my maid (her previous emplyer) to put a QV (correct name??) cream on her and sure enough it always improve after 1 or 2 days. It 'll come back again and we'll use the cream and it'll go away. We bought it in Mannings and it said on the bottle it's for treating dry skin and it's safe for infants. So i guess no harm done. You can try it or better go to your pead for a check up. :bighug

Also it could be your bm on her face, and you need to clean her everytime you finish feeding her. I realize bm is very sticky and and when they move around the milk does get all over the face too.
