Good day, Mommies!

I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and we are planning to give birth in Hong Kong instead of going back to Korea. I am wondering what will be the status of our baby then in Hong Kong? My husband is holding a working visa renewable every 2 years and his company is sponsoring my dependent visa. We will really appreciate your inputs. Thank you.

Your baby will also be on a dependent visa. If you or your husband are of Chinese ethnicity (and can prove it) then your baby will get PR and HK Passport. If not then you will need to apply for citizenship and passport of your and/or your husband's home country.

Keep in mind the HK SAR immigration rule is your (technically) only allowed one nationality. So if you do decide to get a Korean passport then you automatically not allowed to get a HK SAR passport.
