When can i start feeding my daughter yougurt? Shes now 7 months old and i was wondering if its ok to start now?

My son is 6 months now and I gave him plain yoghurt two weeks ago for the first time. He likes it very much!!

Same here. I gave my daughter baby yogurt since 6 months. She loves it and I gave it to her almost everyday!

Make your own yoghurt

Some people are less willing to give children shop-bought yoghurt with sugars in them. I do when travelling or on the go here in HK but if it helps here is a recipe to make your own yoghurt - I make it every week and then blend in my own fruits for my LO.

You need:
2 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon live yoghurt OR previously homemade yoghurt

Bring milk to the boil. Transfer to a bowl (ceramic or glass, not metallic) and let it cool for about 30 mins. At this point stir in live yoghurt well. Cover so that no air is getting in and leave at room temperature for 4-6 hours (sometimes this takes a little longer, esp in winter, so I usually leave overnight).

Milk will turn into a creamy yoghurt, it'll keep in the fridge for a week but will taste a little sharp after 2 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. As soon as I have one batch made I freeze one teaspoon in a small container, so that I always have some for making a new batch once defrosted.

Enjoy!:burnout:

I started feeding my baby at 6mths on baby fromage frais ( Petit Filous www.petitsfilous.co.uk/html/product-info.html and Muller Little Stars) its says on the pack that you can feed them between 4-6months. I find fromage frais is creamier and its not as sour as yohurt. Danone fromage frais(suitable from 4mths) is good aswel, its made from follow-on milk. Are any of these can be bought in HK?

Dear All,

My first born used to love the baby yogurt from Yoplait. But the supermarket in my neighborhood doesn't carry it anymore. Now I wonder where I can get yogurt especially for babies for my 7-mth-old.

Any input will be much appreciated.

We use traditional yohugrt... I think the brand is Pauls'. I know it's from Oz. We get it at Wellcome. Full fat yoghurt. We simply shave apple/pear or mush a banana and bub laps it up :-) Otherwise, we use Yoplait baby yoghurt.
