Strange question here...

My nearly 7 month old is using a straw cup really well, but she cannot/ does not control the amount of water taken, so her bib ends up all wet. Will they eventually learn or can I do something about it?

She also could be playing, they love filling their mouths with water and letting it all run out!

yep, they eventually learn... you don't see many 30 year olds wearing bibs when they drink out of straws, right? LOL

Try buying a different brand of bottle which needs harder sucking for the water to come out. Tommy Tippie has those. Sometimes the water can go in the nasal passage if the child or even adult takes in too much water in the mouth and can't spit it out immediately. Very uncomfortable.

Carang LOL .. yes, you are right.
She doesn't seem uncomfortable except for the first mouthful she chokes/gags on slightly. I will hope she learns soon. I used to use a sippy cup, but she didn't like it. With the straw cup, she loves "fighting" with it ... LOL so the straw cup wins in our house!

Thanks all!
