Just wondering if baby/talcum powder is still widely used by most and is it actually ok or too drying. I'm using the good old Johnson & Johnson, the most original one, mostly after my LO's bath on areas such as his neck, armpits, and between folds here n there since bubby is a little on the chubby side. I have two powder containers w/puffs, one to apply after every nappy change to keep the area nice and dry, and one for other areas. Just thought it's more hygenic to keep one exclusively for the bum.
Actually, I've noticed that my LO has recently developed some rough bumpy patches around the elbows, sides of thighs and calves. Also, his tummy is very rough to the touch as well, almost like sandpaper but it's not red and doesn't seem itchy...I don't think so anyway. Could the baby powder be too drying? I use Mustela's Hydrating Body Moisturiser & Softening Spray on him after his bath but still doesn't help much. I don't want to jump to conclusions and consider it as eczema, but it does seem like an allergy or reaction to something. Any thoughts? Ta!
