rent-a-mum are a reliable agency that I've used several times. www.rent-a-mum.com

I'll second the Rent-a-Mum. We get the same sitter every time, which helps. I believe they are all trained British nannies, so you don't have to worry that they can't handle something.
Pricy though. If you do this 3 times a month, it would be cheaper to have a DH.
