Hi, I found a baby monitor that I can't get in Hong Kong on amazon uk. Does anyone know if electronics bought in England will work in Hong Kong?

In theory I read it will work, but wanted to know if anyone has actually brought stuff back and if it worked ok!

Thanks!

Hi,

On the basis that we bought over all our electronics from England and they work fine, then yes it will work. All runs on the same voltage here so no problems at all on that front.

Just a warning - voltage will be fine, but not all baby monitors work in HK because of the thick concrete walls. I tried several from B2B and Eugene before I found one that worked okay.

I think both are exchange only, rather than refunds. Eugene's policy is not so good - must exchange within 3 days. B2B within 14 days I think, but best to double check with them.

I've got the BT150, which I bought in the UK- it's the most popular brand in the UK. Very good, goes through walls no problem, and very long range.

I tried Philips and Tomy monitors from B2B. Neither worked in our apartment (thick concrete walls). But I then exchanged at B2B for a Motorola one. It's fantastic. Great reception, minimal static or interference, reasonable price but still all-singing/all-dancing... wish we'd gone with Motorola 6 years ago for baby number one.
