Baby friendly paint products

Hi All

I'm new to this forum (although not new to Hong Kong) but it looks like you lot have all the info!

I'm looking for some paint for our nursery - number two child is due in October - and I want something that's safe and preferably has a good range of colours. I also need some baby-safe paint for re-painting a change table.

Does anybody know of any good, honest, English speaking paint suppliers in Hong Kong? I know that Wanchai is full of building suppliers but 31 weeks pregnant and with a 21 month old toddler in tow I don't fancy trawling the streets looking for what I want!

Thanks in advance
Bernard:cheers:

I just saw an ad recently of a Health Store selling non-toxic paint.
Not sure if it was in the Dollarsaver or Parenting magazines. Anyone else see it?

Thanks Rani
I know I've seen an ad for it somewhere, but I've searched all the DollarSavers from May onwards and do you think I can find it????

Bernard

I went through the Dollarsaver online and couldn't find the ad either. Checked the last few issues. Sorry.

Rani

yup,
i've been through all the online issues and can't find it anywhere. I'm beginning to think that I must have dreamed it!

Thanks both - anybody else got any ideas????

Baby safe paints, Rani and CD&I!

Hi Rani
Just wanted to say thanks for pointing me towards CD&I - Mark Fraser was really helpful and recommended Yuen Fat Ho - they speak excellent English, were helpful, have a really good range of non-toxic paints and can deliver!

If anyone needs them, they can be found at 77 Hollywood Road, Tel 2546 8931.

Thanks again for all your help. My new bub can now have her 'moody blue' nursery with ivory changing table and my nesting instinct has once again been satiated!

tried to check if they have paint in light colours at the above recommended shop at hollywood road. was extremely rude to me and said that if i want non toxic paint, they have only white! and if i want colour, they can mix in with some colour pigments and then they cannot guarantee that they are non-toxic. couldnt ask anything else, cos the lady who answered the call, slammed the phone down on me.

i called up eco natural paint and they were really helpful and suggested that i could either drop in at their store or send across the money and they would order the paint for me.. highly receommend that you give your sales to them rather than the shop at hollywood road.

I agree! I just ordered some pretty yellow paint for the nursery from Natural Living on 385 Lockhart Rd.- Wanchai, and picked it up today. They were very friendly and helpful. Everything they sell is eco-friendly, european and non-toxic. Here is the website: Ecotec Natural Paint
