We are going on a short holiday in a few days.
I was planning to take some baby food (home-made veg purees, etc) with me.
Will the airport security disallow it and make me throw it away?
They do make exceptions for baby food/drink, but may make you taste it! That's been my experience on flights to and from Singapore and the UK in the past 3 months. And sometimes the security is a bit lax and they don't even check.
HK airport security have never made me taste anything and I have been through with water and food for baby. On three occasions, only once did they open my bag to check it was for the baby, on the other 2 occasions, they didn't stop me.
I didn't have any problems at the HK airport too. But you might be asked to discard the leftovers when entering the country you are visiting depending on their custom regulations.
