Baby expo outing?

So the baby expo is August 8-10 - Friday to Sunday. I was thinking of going next Friday, that's the best day for me. Does anyone want to make an outing of it? Keep each other company??

Can we prebook tickets anywhere, does anyone know? That might be easier than getting tickets on the day!!
 
I won't be able to make it cos my bro in law is leaving that day... We'll have to brave the crowd and go on Sunday instead!!!! Lovely!
 
hkrose, everything to do with babies, you will find at the Baby Expo. There's usually a big sale of grobags at their stall, Eugene group are also there and so much more!
I've worked at the Baby expo before and I would recommend leaving BB at home if you plan on going at the weekend as it is usually very busy and packed, packed, packed!
 
Last year, the busiest day was actually Friday as a lot of freebies are given out during the expo, and by Sunday, the freebies are already all gone. Saturday was the quietest.

I don't think you can prebook tickets, but do be careful, as last year, the queue on Friday actually took 2 hours to just get the tickets and a few pregnant women fainted (it was even on the news!). Not sure if they have done anything to improve anything.

When you get the ticket, you also get a coupons book with all the freebies, but then, you need to fill in every single page with you details. A lot of people actually print labels and just stick it on. Some groups of mothers split up and each go to different booths to collect the gifts for the others and then gather again to split the gifts.

I'm busy on Saturday and Sunday so Friday is my only option...

Is it better to go earlier or later in the day, if we're going on Friday?
 
ooh, sounds crazy but fun! I can make it either early morning (before 11) or anytime after 1pm. The HKCEC website is down, so I can't get info on what time it opens, or whether we can pre-book tickets, but it sounds like we just need to go and wait in line.
How about we meet in the lobby of the Hyatt and walk over to stand in line together?
FYI, Bubbly had written in a previous post that the labels should have: Names, Contact info and Baby's DOB
 
I called Eugene Club Centre coz they're organising it and they said that you must buy tickets there. I think that the tickets are $20 each - but I joined the Eugene VIP and I got 3 $5 off coupon things, so it's $15 with the coupon.

I THINK it starts at either 10 or 11, I can't remember rightly... I'd rather go earlier than later, if possible... I'd rather not be standing outside lining up if it's reaaalllyyy hot - and I'd rather go when it's not so busy - but not really sure what to expect coz I've never been before!

I can go any time, I have no other plans for that day...
 
I got those coupons too!! Thanks for reminding me! it says it starts from 10am to 8pm. I wonder when ticket sales start - my class starts at 11 in wanchai, I could feasibly be at the HKCEC at 9:30 and line up for the tickets and then come back to the Expo after my class ends at 1.

I wonder if they let us purchase tickets for other people?

I already made my labels - hehe.

I'm getting my hubby to print them on some sticky paper when he's at work. I don't have sticky paper at home!! I think that sticky paper is the easiest way to make the labels, they just go through a regular printer.
 
For the early birds, let's meet at 9:15am in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt (at least there is air con. there) and then we can walk over and stand in line together. PM me if you want my phone number in case you get lost or are running late!

I used my computer and did what nicole is doing and printed it out on sticky back paper and then cut them...you can probably go to a stationary store and buy the sticky paper (or pre-cut labels) - or you can get a copy shop to make some for you. I don't know how many you need - maybe 50 or so? it is just a good shortcut that someone suggested for filling out the forms to get free stuff!
 
i cant make it early in the morning. so you guys go ahead, maybe i still meet you there in the afternoon
 
ninah, PM me your cell phone number - IF we can buy you a ticket I will go ahead and do that, that way you don't have to wait in line when you get there...
 
Did Eugene give out a book of coupons when you joined the VIP? I didn't get one!? Come to think of it, they still haven't sent me the VIP card!?!
 
Hello Baby Expo goers....just realised that I can now make this little expedition and although I think it will be MANIC it may well be worth fighting the crowds for some good old fashioned free stuff!! See you in lobby of Grand Hyatt at 9.15am. Kristin...will PM you my mobile.
