Hi
pls anybody tell me if there is any baby daycare center in HK. I planning to work full day.

thanks

pretty much non-existant in hk. the few that i have heard of are geared towards low-income families.

the norm in hk is to hire a full-time, live-in helper rather than use daycare services.

this one provide daycare at a very reasonable rate:

HKSPC

i know because it is near my house, i heard that they are very good, but i do not send my girl there as my mil takes care of her during the day.

you might wanna check out if they have one near you.

my colleague send his son there when he is 1 month old.. he said they are okay..

Thank u Carang and Reei.. is it reallly safe to leave baby alone along with helper full day?? can u also give me any idea reg full time live in helper expenses. this HKSPC link is usefull, will check and post comments for others..

thanks

we have had only one helper since both of my children were born. she may not do things EXACTLY as i would, but then again, neither would my husband. my kids adore her and she loves them, too.

we've never had an issue with "safety". i have always made it mandatory that my kids leave the house at least once per day, be it for a walk, a jump on the neighbourhood trampoline, a trip to the supermarket etc.

expenses:
$3580/month (minimum salary)
$740/month (minimum food allowance IF she doesn't eat the same food as you, if she eats your food, then nothing.)
$500/year insurance
one trip home at the end of the contract ($ depends on where they are from)

personally, i LOVE that my kids are not numbers in a daycare and that they get really personal attention. my helper is very good, though at not raising "babies". my kids are VERY independent and LOVE to do things "by themselves".

i tried, it works, try again.

or here is one of the contact:

They have branches everywhere, see if can direct you to the one nearest to you, or answer your enquiries.

but for daycare, if your kids are sick, they dont take them in. they check their temperature every morning, and if they have fever, you will have to take a day off to take care of them on your own.
