Baby clothes - handwash?

why hand wash?
you're going to have enough to do without hand washing everything!

we always threw our son's clothes in with our own. never had a problem. although i do know some people wash them separately...

We did a separate load for baby for the first 6 months. I used the baby detergent from Park N Shop. I think it was called Vigor.

I am thinking of handwashing all the clothes before having baby wear them for the first time (I am anal retentive, so dont know if I can trust the washing machine to be clean enough, since it is in a rental flat **embarrassed**).

Would laundry detergent be okay for handwashing as well, or should I use something like Dove handsoap?

Thanks. :)

my worry with hand washing is always whether or not i can get all the soap out. with a machine, i never have that worry...

if you are going to hand wash, then find a liquid detergent... NOT handsoap...
ps. most of us here live in rental flats!LOL

i'll be in tung chung from 6-7 tonight if you want to meet me to get my card etc...call my mobile!

I really think washing with the washing machine should be cleaner than hand-washing, given that you can wash at a higher temperature, and can thoroughly get all the soap out. In any case, I use Persil non-bio (liquid) for both machine and handwashing my baby clothes.

I simply threw all new clothes to the waching machine. Put on the short cycle. Water 30C. I used Vigor bought from PNS. I washed children clothes separately (from adults) until they're about 2

I wash all baby clothes separately in washing machine, I use persil non-bio wash powder and downy conditioner (all gentle enough for babies). For the white loads, vests, muslins etc...I always chuck a scoop of napisan in too, to keep them fresh looking and also napisan works as an antibacterial agent
