Baby Carriers

I was wondering which carriers should I use once baby gets to about one year old and is too heavy for the bjorn? are there any like hipsters seats available in hong kong?

I used a mayawrap baby sling from the time my baby was one week old (the day before we left hospital) to her being over three years old. I liked the way you could put them in different positions depending on the age and situation.
I particularly liked it when she was a toddler because it was so easy to get her in and out of. I found that toddlers alway want to walk but not very far!

Hi Avi
I purchased a hipster seat for my daughter and they are really useful. Much better than carrying them for a period of time. Only problem was when sitting down on public transport that the seat sticks out so you have to take it off or turn around to the back or front which can be difficult as its not easy to turn it. But definitely would recommend it.
Hope that helps

I also have used a mayawrap baby sling since my daughter was young (she is now one year and 19lbs) and it's the best! It's great for a safer ride on public transportation too. They are very comfortable and can be used for kids up to 35lbs! Taylor made slings are good too, but don't have the pocket like the Mayawrap. I have a backpack carrier, snugli front carrier and 3 slings and the slings are the most comfortable of all the carriers.
My friend likes her hip carrier, but she has told me many times that it is good for short distances only as it's not very comfortable.
Good luck!

Hi,
Definitely the mayawrap sling for me. I had a Baby Bjorn, but after a few months it started to give me back and shoulder problems if I had been carrying the baby for any length of time.

I have carried my daughter in the Mayawrap since she was three months, she is now nineteen months and I still carry her in it (and I'm pregnant) and there are no problems. My daugher has breastfed and slept in the Mayawrap, and all in complete comfort both in the fabric and next to Mummy.

The modified traditional ones sold in wet markets. They use plastic clips instead of knots. Cost ~ HK$ 50. I used them for my kids from the age of about 3 months to 2 1/2 years old.

You can wear them on the front or one the back.
