Au Pair information for HK?

Hello,

I will be relocating to Hong Kong from Canada this summer and am wondering if anyone knows of any agencies or other information regarding Au Pair help. I am interested in finding an au pair possibly from Europe of North America to join us in Hong Kong to help care for our son (live-in). Anyone have info? Seems most hire Filipinas or other southeast Asians. Does immigration allow au pairs in hk?

Are you sure you want an au pair? The night life here is amazing and once she's made a few friends and discovers Lan Kwai Fong and all the bars in Wanchai, you can expect her to be out a few times a week. A friend dated an Au Pair and I think she had a permanent hangover while she was in HK. I think a mature Filipina would be better.

Not sure about the visa for an au pair.
 
i totally agree w/ rani.

even a young filipina will be dangerous. hire one directly from the filipines- married, with children (so they need to support someone they love back home), mature. they're less wild.

there's too much temptation in hong kong for au pair
