Hi Im looking for Artwork / paintings some thing eye catching for my kids bed rooms where do i start looking

Where have you put up in your childs room

If anyone is up for posting pictures of what you have id be really interested

thank you

depends what color of your kid's room....most of artwork/paintings are cutie animals or you can have a theme....like ocean theme...zoo theme....flower theme....etc.....any style you want....then you can find some one to do those artwork/painting for the theme..... :)

also would depend on the age of your kids.

my 4 yr old daughter insisted that her room be an entirely pink princess room... so, that's what she got. a pink room, pink bed, pink sheets, pink curtains etc. and i bought some princess wall decals and decorated with those.

my 6 yr old son wanted transformers and ben 10 in a blue room... that's what he got.

prior to a year ago, they didn't have any art work on their walls.... i waited until they were old enough to tell me what they liked.

If you are creative and your kids are old enough you could consider making your own using Pyssla

They are basically plastic tube beads you can make into patterns and then use an iron to join together..... we are making a few for the walls - started with rainbows, a big smiley sun and some birds.... stick up with blu-tac. Going to start on trees soon!

You can get some ideas for patterns on numerous blogs or Google

The best bit is the cost - HK$60 for a huge box that you can do a whole wall with. Just something to consider, especially if your child can join in :)

My son's room is covered in artwork and crafts that he has created since he was 18-months-old. He likes to look back and say, "Remember when I made that one!" Also, there is a wall bookshelf. I think it's great that his room can be his art gallery to display what he's made. I don't see any need to buy other artwork to display in there. If I were to invest money in anything to decorate the walls, my inclination would be to take a piece of artwork that he's done that either appeals to him or I particularily or really captures something special--either about his age or just his view of the world and then have it framed nicely (or frame it myself as I used to do that all the time as a hobby). Then it becomes not only a display of his artwork but also a keepsake. My son is turning 4-years-old soon and we've bought him a digital camera for his birthday and so I'm really excited to see the photos he'll be taking from his perspective--those would also make nice frame-able artwork. I'm not much on the themed bedrooms myself as my son's interests change so quickly that I'd rather just help him create a nice, relaxing place that is decorated with things he has made.

i agree about their changing their favourites often... however, my son was a CARS fanatic for about 3 years and has LOVED Ben 10 for at least the past 3... so really, it's not a big deal. besides, i like to repaint their rooms every couple of years, if we've only used stickers, then they are easily and cheaply replaced.

i LOVE the craft idea, but as you know, thanka, i do hundreds of crafts with my kids every year.... no way i can keep them! LOL!
