Dear mummies,

I am wondering where can i get art & craft materials such as pom pom, corrugated sheets, goggly eyes, feathers, felt etc for my boys? We used to do lots of craftwork back at Beijing, i brought some of the stuff here but stocks running low now.. We are staying near Ma On Shan and rather new to HK, and have yet to come across shops selling these stuff. Thanks for any feedback & links, if there's online shopping for this is even better! :)

I'd be interested to know this too. I am guessing somewhere in Sham Shui Po but would love some specific shops and directions for someone not familar with the area.
 
First, I'd try Jusco $10 stores. They usually have a good selection of craft supplies in one area, but they also have a good selection of stationary - pencils, notebooks, crayons, etc - and it's a good place to get stuff like baskets, boxes, frames, etc to use as storage or craft supplies themselves. And most things are just $10. Many local stationary shops have some craft stuff - I know the two on Morrison Hill Road near Henessey have pipe cleaners, felt, stickers, pencil crayons, etc. There is an art supply shop - Artland - in the Lockhart Centre on the third floor. They have lots of craft supplies and also finer art supplies. I wouldn't venture to sham shui po unless I was looking for something specific like beads, ribbon, or fabric.
 
i've found artland to be incredibly expensive. I use a LOT of craft materials in my two playgroup centres and here's what i've found:

sham shui po:
beads
buttons
eyes
pipe cleaners
felt ($10/yd)
material
sequins

mongkok: Craft Supplies Store
have great things like:
masks
wooden boxes
mosaics
white hats/fans/cars etc
craft packs @ $10 each! (includes everything you need, except glue) for making various items

do you mind to share with me the exact address of the shops that selling these stuff at mongkok & sham shui po? as i had never travelled to that part of hk yet.. thanks lots!

In sham shui po, i strongly suggest you take an afternoon and explore the area. There sre dozens of shops with everything listed, so it's best for you to look around and explore. There are also toy shops that sell wholesale toys etc which are great for birthday bags!

i have to ask hubby which street it's on...i honestly can't remember the street names. i just know how to walk there...sorry!
