April 2011 Moms

Happy chinese new year to everybody!!
well.. i do get thirsty all the time.. i suppose its due to this dry weather but i m trying to cut down drinking too much at night since i wake up more than 4 times a night to go toilet...
my baby boy wants to eat pizza all the time and i just did an online order haha!
its been so quick ladies.. we r giving birth in 2 months! i m so nervous.. still trying to figure out which method i should use for deliver due to high blood pressure.
my baby's moving so much and my tummy is always out of shape! my husband got scared when he puts his hand on my tummy and felt the big movements.. cant wait to see my baby soon!

hi soon-to-be-moms, how's everyone getting through the last trimester? at 32 weeks, i'm definitely beginning to get more and more uncomfortable. my latest symptom is very very frequent urination. i mean, i was already going to the loo a lot, but now it's even more, like several times in an hour! yesterday i got so worried that i went and gave an urine sample to be tested, so let's see what the results come out to be. but has anyone else experienced anything similar?

It's NoRMAL!!!!! I pee sometimes and then I feel like I have to go again. Sometimes baby pushes on the bladder too and you'll feel a really strong urge to go and when you go, there's nothing. You only have to be worried if there's blood or pain upon urination. High frequency is pretty normal. I have to go at least every hour.

thanks banane76! i feel better to hear that...and thankfully there's no pain or blood! fingers crossed. i suppose these last few weeks are just hard, is all!

yeah i m the same as well.. especially when baby moves i will have to go right away.. and for me it mostly happen at mid night when i sleep!
i need some advise girls...
i'm currently living in Macau at the moment and moving to HK beginning of next month.. we have a 18 months old tea cup poodle who we love so so much and we decided to bring her to HK with us.
But my husband raised a question couple nights ago about letting her go due to she needs attentions all the time and after we move to HK my husband will have to travel at lease one week every month and i will be busy looking after new baby, which i thought it's still manageable. and the worst thing is.. our new apartment does not allow us to have pets.. i mean... she doesnt bark and she's been a very good girl.. she only needs walks when we can take her..
i've been so upset after my husband asked to let her go.. i know it's a better option for her to let her stay in macau with new family but at the same time i feel so quilty about not be able to keep my commitment of having her for a life time. and i know i will be quilty for the rest of my life if i let go...
so ladies.. should i let her go or not... ??

How will you keep the dog if your new place does not allow pets? Are you going to be getting a helper? If you are, then it's not so bad because you'll have someone that can take her out for walks while you're with the baby.

my dog is just as big as 2 palm size so its not hard to sneak her in and out without anyone notice. no i m not getting a helper but my aunt is willing to come at lease 3 times a week to help out after baby's born and i have friends in HK willing to look after her while we r busy. it's just my husband thinks its not fair for my dog to not get 100% attentions she needed.. and we wont be able to walk her everynight like how we do now. and plus, she will be an illlegal immigrate if we ship her back to HK LOL (since if we wanna ship her back to HK legally she has to be seperated for 4 months and we know she will not be able to handle it)

babyblue you are in a tough situation for sure. i love dogs but i know that if i get one, i will not want to separate him/her from me ever. it will be a lifetime commitment to the best of my ability. lots of people manage a dog with a baby and it sounds like your dog is low-maintenance. it's only the first 3/4 months that will be hard and after that you'll start taking baby for walks as well so you can take the dog then? however, i cannot comment on the no-pets policy in your new building as well as the policies regarding shipping her to HK. those are things you should think about carefully and rationally. i sympathize with you fully though.

Thanks Mariac, i m glad that i m getting supports here more than what i get from people around me... i have made an agreement to myself that if i can't find a good home or responsible owner to take care of her, then she is coming with me. I would rather have more work on myself then having regrets for the rest of my life. or even try to get someone to look after her for me for the 1-2 months until i settle with baby then she can come back home with us...still about 2 weeks to go for me to find somebody ( i m not trying but my husband is asking his colleagues if anybody wants to keep her).. i still cant stop crying....

How will you transport her to HK? I think animals have to be quarantined for a reason to prevent foreign bugs and such from coming in the country so I don't know how you would "smuggle" her in. I would be careful about sneaking animals into a no pets policy apartment. You might face some problems as even though she is quiet and very well behaved, if someone found out, they might let management know. That's great you have an aunt that will help out 3 times a week. It will be an adjustment for the dog when baby arrives so it's a good idea to slowly introduce the baby to dog anyway. Good luck Babyblue! It's hard to part with an animal because they are your family.

well i am not quite sure how those people transport her. But they said it takes overnight.
last night we have one of our friends coming in to have a look at her, i know my friend will be able to provide a much better home for her, with plenty of time with her at lease she wont be lonely. I have been so emotional since yesterday and non stop crying since last night.. i really hope my friend will say no to me about taking my dog.. i m such a selfish person here..

Hello everyone!

Not long to go! Are we all ready!? nervous??!! scared!!?? I am told my baby is already 3.7kgs at last week's check up when I was 37 weeks. It's a big baby!!

Hope all are doing well and looking forward to hearing the good news soon April mums!

Hey Violet,
Will be 39 weeks this week...eek! I was told 3 weeks ago my baby was 3.2kg and we have our checkup with the private doctor again today. So, I'm expecting my baby is around the same as yours. Mariac had her baby just last week. I'll let her share the details. How are you feeling? I'm really hoping this baby is coming soon...nervous of course, even though this is number 2, but I'm sure we'll all be good! Good luck to you and everyone!!!

Hi hi everyone,

Wow! We are going to meet our baby soon, that's really fast!

I am 36 weeks now and my baby weight 2.66 kgs. Congratulations to Mariac, hope to hear from her again soon! Good luck to all of us and keep in touch!!

Hi "April" mums :o)

I hope you don't mind me butting in on your group but I've only been in HK since 24th Feb and haven't managed to really make contact with other expecting females. I'm actually due next week! It would however be nice to meet up with anyone who has time for a coffee/tea in the Central area on Thursday 31st or Friday 1st April. Failing that because it is pretty short notice for you all - it would be lovely if we could organise a getogether when our little ones have been born :o)
Take care everyone,
Ang

Hey Forsieg,
Welcome to the April group! I'm also due next week, but I live in Tung Chung so not really making too many trips into the city as I'm having my second and this one is much bigger than my last one. I'm hoping for an early delivery, but who knows. Maybe we can all meet up when babies arrive. I kinda have to stay close to home for the first month (Chinese thing- but more to keep me and baby safe from new germs. How are you finding HK? Do you need help with knowing where to shop and stuff? Do you know what you're expecting?

Hi Forsieg,

Welcome, April mom! I live in Tsuen Wan and today I have appointment with the hospital, so I don't think I can meet up this 2 days. Tummy is pretty heavy and I feel tired easily. It would be great to meet up upon the babies arrive, I would love to join. Let us know if you need help on babies shopping stuff... Take care!

Hi Banabe76 and Mavislohsp
Thanks for replying. I fully understand your positions ;o) and it's best to stay where you feel "safe" at the moment :o) My tummy is also feeling very heavy and I feel a bit wobbly sometimes when I turn round too quickly! It would be lovel to meet up when the little ones have arrived. This is my first (very excited). Thanks for offering to help for shopping for baby things. I think I've found all the essentials but no doubt there will be things I'll still need, so I'll be in touch about that. Good luck with your hospital visits and take care. I'll be going into hospital on Monday - I don't know if I should be relieved or scared ;o) "Speak" to you soon. :oD

Hello all! My baby boy arrived a day earlier than expected! We are home now and bonding! He weighed 3.98kg at birth!
