No home remedies. but my friend daugther get help from Pediasure milk powder from Abbott. Bovrill(not sure with thespelling...) with porridge also help.

i have the same problem too. My son is 23 months old and he would just eat about few mouth and start playing with his food. And whenever I started to feed him, he would start to cry until he vomit. I am already at my wit's end.

Hello,

My son went thru this as well at around 22-23 months....he's now 26 months...

He almost stopped eating and would only drink milk....I tried offering all his special foods he likes...I even tried to give him junk food but to no wail.

Finally after about a month of me panicking he outgrew...and yes he did loose weight...but now he's back to normal and has regained the lost weight....

Thanx moms for all the replies!
It can get so frustrating and depressing to see them go with just milk for days.
hmm....all a part of life eh?

In fact, for one day i adopted a 'no meal, no milk and snacks' approach and it really hurts my heart 'cos he didn't give in. But now, I decided to give him milk and biscuits even though he refuse his meal. I hope I am going the right direction and sure hope he will outgrow this habit soonest.

Alot of children seem to go through this stage. I know both mine seem to be up and down with their appetites. The way I look at it is, I've never heard of a toddler starving themselves and I appraoch both my children with the attitude that they will eat when they're hungry-which is actually what us human beings should do. When my two are on a low appetite phase I try to give them lots of healthy snacks, so that they eat little and often, rather than trying to get them to eat large meals three times a day. The other thing I find they enjoy is drinking smoothies, which you can pack with fruit without them really knowing they're eating/drinking something nutritious.

It can be very frustrating, but just keeping in mind that they will eat when they're hungry really helped me get through these phases.

I hope that helps

Thanku jools.u r right.
secretsquirrel,relax.
lets not get really worried.

have u talked tothe paed abt this?

engee, you are right. I am trying to be as relax as I can be. No forcing anymore. but one thing in comfort, he is beginning to eat more for the past couple of days. I guess the culprit is the growing of molar teeth. now i know there is always up and down. no point insisting too much.

i am trying to relax keeping in mind what jools said.but how long do they go on this way?he is not even 2 now.
he doesnt eat biscuts,crackers,icecreams,no smoothies....
i am loosing my mind again.
i dont see any teeth coming out right nowsoits not that.he gets so adamant..:bawling:
