anyone from Bkk?

I'm going there with my mom for 3 days/2 nights. Can you pls suggest where to go? She doesn't like walking too far, not keen on shopping in malls too but loves street shopping or night market, cheap stuff. It's her first time to go there. I've been there but it's been ages.

I`m not from BKK but used to live in Thailand and have been there dozens of times.
I really like to stay in the Silom area. Tons of hotels and guesthouses, near BTS (metro), lots of street shopping, `happening nightlife` (though I guess you might not want to go to their redlight district with your mama?), and a short taxi ride from Lumpini Park and they have a great night bazaar.
