Anyone expecting in April 2011?

Hi ladies,
My EDD is April 28th, 2011.
Any ideas were to buy good bras? I can't wear my regular bras without feeling suffocated. Plus underwire is a killer.
Thanks & good luck everyone for their week 12 checkups!

I saw some at H and M and I also got some at Bumps to Babes. Yea, still off the underwire! Much more comfy without it and also better for milk production.

thanks anna - for the maternity store recommendations. i got comfy homewear at H&M, a nice dress from Linea Negra and good quality casualwear from Bumps to Babes.

sstella - i found good but reasonably-priced maternity bras at Bumps to Babes.

Now to find a good anti-stretchmark oil/cream. previous moms, any recommendations?

I really like Mambino products. You can buy them on the 11th floor of the building with the Starbucks on D'aguilar street...can't remember name of store or building but they have lots of health food products and some baby stuff. They also have a nice baby oil that is good for cradle cap and eczema. You can find the same stuff at Annerley, but you can get a discount at the other store if you join their club. I used it twice a day and had no stretchmarks...but it's partly genetic though. I also like the smell.

Hey ladies,

So happy to hear from a lot of April and May moms/moms to be! Had my OSCAR done at 12weeks 6 days and picked up result 3days later. Everything was fine and which, was a big relieve since I have a Down Syndrome sister.
I have booked Baptist Hospital but like other new moms, I'm actually very scare thinking about if I should give birth naturally or c-section....
having my 16 weeks scan in 2 weeks something hopefully I will be able to see the sex of my baby~

Hey, mine is 22nd April 2011, not holding out much hope for delivering on time, my first was a week early and the second 2 weeks late!! xx

Hey I had my OSCAR done yesterday n the dr guessed it's a baby gal!

I bought a nice top at ninemonths.

Does anyone need to wear suits at work? I occasionally do and thinking of what to do.

Will you hire nanny during the first month? I mean "Pui yut"

My dr friend told me that stretch marks are inherited so if your mum has it then u probably will have it

Yeah stretch marks are partly genetic, but the belly rubs help with the itchiness when stretching. My mom had them, but I didn't get them but of course don't know if it was the creams. I don't have to wear suits, but you could probably get some nice tops and skirts at HandM too?

My EDD is 5th May 2011. Have my 12 weeks check-up in 10 days. I am thinking what kind of cream/oil to start to prevent stretch marks. Luckymama, I am happy to hear that stretch marks might be inherited because my mom doesn't have any. But I am pretty slim so I guess my chance of getting stretch marks in the later pregnancy is still high.

A friend of mine used cocoa butter from The Body Shop, another friend recommended edible extra virgin olive oil(but I found it very sticky after applying onto the skin). Do you ladies have some tips of skin care from the early pregnancy to prevent stretch marks? Please share. :)

My friend used clarnis herbal oil. I am a bit lazy to put it on everyday.

How much weight did u put on so far? I've put on 7lbs. I'm really trying not to eat too much coz I don't wanna be too blown up.

Ladies, whether or not stretchmarks are genetic, I don't think using an anti-stretchmark oil/cream can be of any harm. It can only help so find one that suits your skin (really I think using any good oil is the main criteria here) and use it anyway! At least you'll know you tried. :) I've started using the Mambino firm and tone oil with their body butter as well and it feels and smells nice (though slightly sticky).

Luckymama - congrats on the news of a girl!

Hey Mariac,

I love the Mambino stuff as well! Smells great and is sticky at first, but then it absorbs. I used it last time and it seemed to help. Congrats on the girl Luckymama...doc said it might be a boy at our oscar, but who knows...he said to wait til the 20week scan.

Hi all!
My mum didn't get any stretch marks (and she had 4 of us) and I didn't get any last time but I used Palmer's cooca body cream & stretch marks cream (haven't seen it here in HK though) religiously! this time around, I have been a bit lazy although every other day, I have been using Johnson & Johnson's baby oil. I really like it on my skin as it absorbs it quickly and leaves it moisturised most of the day!
By the way - any of you going to Princess Margaret for delivery?

Hi ladies, I started a thread in the due date clubs so it's easier to keep track of the April mom's thread. Hope all is well and we should meet up soon!

Sstella, it hasn't moved, but I started an April Due Date Club thread so it's easier to find...I find this one gets lost sometimes if people don't use it everyday. Hope you are well!

Ok, for everyone who's on this thread, here's how you go the April Due Dates Club: Go to Forums tab on top of this page and click on Due Date Clubs and then choose Moms Due April-June 11. We are trying to organize our first meeting as well, so hope that many of us can find a common time to meet. Please give a general idea of your availability once you're at the other thread.

pregnant in Shenzhen

Hello Ladies,

Count me in as well. My baby is due end of april - beginning of may.
I live in Shenzhen- and sometimes go to HK (so far have gone to a private doctor in HK- who can speak english). However, planning to deliver in Shenzhen (currently looking for a midwife- who can speak both- english/chinese). If you have any recommendations- let me know.

Let's keep in touch.

Merry Christmass!!!
