Anyone doing IUI?

Though I'd post an update-BFN yesterday with the blood test :-(

Taking the news quite well considering.
It was a long 2 week wait and for a while there I thought that blue veins appearing all over my body and hot flushes was a good sign-turns out it was just the meds.

For now i'm just looking forward to feeling 'normal' for a few days as I'm currently drug free!
 
Hi Blondy, so sorry to hear about your BFN, its never easy getting that, but there's always next time. as long as you don't give up, you will get there!
I am getting my 1st IUI with Dr Lo tomorrow, got my hcg this morning. I had a total of 3 FSH shots $2100 ($700each)+$2000 Dr Lo monitoring fees + $800 hcg shot+$2300 IUI fee=$7200. I was told that it would be between $12-15k, but vary with people depending on how much drug you need.
anyways, im excited and looking forward to getting it done, but im sure my mood will turn immediately to anxious & worried once its done & the 2ww starts. my husband & I are flying back to Xiamen (China) on Saturday to wait, since we work & live there most of the time.

thanks! i had my IUI yesterday at Proivfic, the procedure went well, and hubby's swimmers were good. just trying to stay relaxed & positive.

sigh.. BFN!! Just found out today! actually i am 4 days over due my period, so 4 days ago i already did a home pregnancy test, and then the day after and the day after.... and it was all Negative! did up to 4 tests! all negative! so i already guess it must be "-"

but i wondered why my period never came, as its always been on time! I found out at doc check up today, its due to the progesterone creams i been using since the IUI. They actually delay your periods... so he told me to stop using it now and then period should come back in 1-2 days! false hope!!

anyway back on the IUI board.. ready for IUI trial 2!!

how are you guys? any good news? blondy hows yr 2nd iui?

sorry to hear that you didn't get a BFP this time! Don't give up, we will all get there soon.
My 2ww will be over this Friday, and will do the test, but I don't have any symptoms at all, kinda feel like its a NO...
well, my doctor didn't give me any progesterone cream, but I did have to take two shots during my 1st week after the IUI. I guess I should expect my period to be late as well even if I am not pregger.
I actually dread the day when I need to do the test, really afraid for the results. >_<
anyways, we shall see.

Impatiently, I ran out and bought 2 drugstore pregnancy tests. Did one 11 days and another 13 days after IUI. Both negative. So I guess it didn't work this time, though my period isn't here yet.
I never knew that progesterone cream could delay it. It is the one that is applied with a tampon-like thing?

Gracey.... i was soo good as i didnt want to panic .. so i finally tested around day 27, period usually comes day 28!
but all negative!

yes doc confirmed with me.. these progesterone can actually delay yr period, as it protects the lining and the body thinks u are pregnant or something so no period ! but if u stop the cream then in 1-2 days it should come! i am waiting for mine now!

yes its the tampon look aliek thing.. bu with cream inside it! I also researched on line on forums and other girls also had delayed periods due to these progeesterone!!!

Well, Boo. My IUI didn't work. My doctor told me I was too fat. (5'1", 125 lbs) AND he told me to stop all exercise. Double boo. Well, I'm not going to lose weight without exercise, so maybe I'll stick to slow swimming.

Back on the Clomid, waiting for round 2...

hi ya girls! sigh depressing stuff!! seems this baby making thing.. isnt smooth at all!! went in to see doc - getting all ready for iui no 2............ after the progesterone delayed by period by about 8 days in total! Finally had the most horrible period, was so painful.. i had to leave work early in the afternoon! Took many painkillers daily!

anyway... then was told on day 3 of when period comes to go back to see Dr Chan and take clomid etc etc...
went to see him.. and he did the ultra scan.. and found out.. well my cycle is all over the place!! The period just came - due to the delay from progesterone cream.. but my body thinks i am in mid cycle............ and he can see a follicle around 10mm - ready to ripe in 4 days time!

So he concluded is.. let me body rest this month... until its a normal cycle..... again and then try iui no 2!! sigh......... boo is right and boo boo boo!!

he said i can try myself this month but v unlikely... an other BOO!!

anyway...... so now i have to wait till this cycle finished, then try again next ccycle..

sometimes this thing is just soo depressing..!!

so anyway iam going drinking tomor.... since nothing to be " careful of"!! one good thing!!
 
I did the HPTs on day 14 post IUI, got very faint line on 2 tests, then went to get blood test done, 25miu, the nurse at Dr. Lo's office told me was low, so I should wait 3 days to test again, if I were preggo, it would have doubled in 3 days. But I got my period in 2 days, so didn't need to test!

This IUI was unsuccessful, and I was going to do the 2nd right away, but Dr Lo's office insisted that my husband come with me to sign the consent paper before they can give me shots, and my husband doesn't have time to fly to HK with me (just to sign paper), so we are gonna cancel this month, and just BD.

Actually, I was thinking to start the IVF instead of keep trying to IUI, since the success rate is so low. So I made an appointment with Dr. Ho for July, we will see what he says.

Sorry Gracey that your IUI didn't work, and I don't think your weight should be a problem for your IUI at all, there are a lot heavier women that had gotten pregnant on their own, so how do they explain that!!!?

Who's your doctor anyways? And does the husband need to sign consent paper before they will give you Clomid, maybe thats what I should do. It costs a lot of money to keep flying to HK, if it wasn't for the consent paper, my husband only needs to go to HK once not twice.

I am trying natural this cycle too, and I wonder how messed up my cycle is. I got my period on time, it was heavier than usual, and its still lingering, usually it cleans up in 3-4 days, now its day 5 and I am still spotting. I didn't take Clomid though, I took 1 Ovidrel shot to trigger, and 2 later to maintain. no cream...
 
hi splitting snow! i think i missed my whole cycle even for trying naturally! i am not sure which day i am at!!! never mind have to wait for normal cycle next month!

How are you feelng? next time i m on iui 2, i will stop the progesterone on day 28, right after i do my " pregnancy test" - if negative i will STOP the cream!!!

I know it took me a while to reply but I was waiting for some good news.

After IUI#1 we decided to move to IVF.
Transferred 2 four cell embryos (day2).
Didn't have half the systems I had with the drugs after IUI, POAS day12-Nothing! Felt a bit let down do had a couple of beers.

Nurse started chasing me for the blood test 2 days later-really wasn't bothered but Hubby & I decided to POAS day14 and if still nothing ring and cancel the blood test.


Well- BFP!
I'd love to say we cried in celebration- but more like we were very composed as still in shock!
Blood came back Day15 with 284 Beta

Today I had the 6 week ultrasound and saw the flicker of the heartbeat :-)
Still in shock...
Still don't feel pregnant (boobs bigger & very hungry-but lets face it eating & putting on weight isn't an unusual symptom)
Doesn't feel like it's happening to me but I have the picture to prove it.

Now just worried if I tell people I'll jinx it....

what did u have to do for IVF? i was scared of that - seems like a lot more complicating then iui?
do u mind me asking.. how much was it in total? and is it a lot more needles and tests? which doc u do it with ?

I am doing my 2nd IUI this week... doc put me on a heavily dose of Gonal.. and i have to inject them myself
pretty scary!!

Blondie -- Congrats! That's so happy.
Splitting Snow -- I don't think your DH has to sign for you to take Clomid, but you both have to sign for each cycle that you do an IUI.
Sorry I've been out of touch. Our 2nd IUI has just failed and I'm very sad. I didn't expect to feel so sad. DH is sitting in a room by himself not talking, which makes me feel terrible. We had hopes for this one. My my uteral lining was good, follies were 19, 22 and 22, and the IUI was perfectly timed 36 hours after the trigger shot.
You kind of get mad at the sperm. It's like "The doctor is putting you guys RIGHT THERE!"
LOL. It's nice to have a place where I can vent and make stupid jokes about this.
Next cycle we are out of town, though I'll still take Clomid and try to monitor my follies before our trip.
If that does work then, well, I guess we try September.
 
Random question. Warning! Don't read if you are easily grossed out!
Does the Crinone leave lots of cottage cheese residue down there? Do you get a watery discharge? It's so much, it wet my underwear.
One night I decided to clean it out. I couldn't believe how much was in there. It covered an entire tissue. And while it was initially white-cream color, this new stuff has blotches of brown in it.
I'm sorry. This question is really disgusting. Is it serious enough to see the doctor?
