Anyone delivering in April?

This is my second pregnancy, last time we went to Yvonne Heavyside who does the Matilda classes, she runs a fast-track antenatal course in the Bank of America tower just 3 two-hour sessions. I liked her manner, she puts you at ease. She also did some home visits and she was really good.

Just had my first appointment at the public hospital. All went really well and was all done in less than an hour! This appointment was for Downs Syndrome screening. So happy I got to have that done for free, (Public hospitals are now screening everyone not just those over 35) as I thought I would have to go to a private doctor. Didn't actually realise that today's appointment was for the screening as everything they had given me was in Chinese - I did ask for English but when I first registered there was a whole lot of papers they gave me and I guess they accidentally gave me this one in Chinese but I didn't realise till I got home!
Luckily my husband was with me today so he got to see the ultrasound and the baby was kicking nicely for us! Also had some blood tests done - also for Downs Screening. Had to stick me in both arms as the first one didn't work! Ouch!!!

thanks for the info, i think i will try out the breathing class at Annerley on friday morning, i need a class to teach me how to meditate maybe i can sleep better at night hahaha, i might join the fast track antenatal class at a mother's touch first, and then decide after to go in a more detail class for either c section or the hynobirthing class in Annerley since I have no clue what kind of birth I really want to do yet

That's interesting, didn't know I could get the Down's screening for free with the public hospital, I am 33 so I thought I couldn't get one. Great info, I will try to see if I can arrange an appointment. I am 9 weeks and my doc told me that he would do it for me next time (in 4 weeks) would save a lot of money

Hi you all, nice to see so many spring mothers around here. I am also due late april and live in Sai Kung. This is my second pregnancy. The first one went great, including the delivery 15 months ago :) Hope I'll be lucky this time too.

Does any one of you have any experience of Prince of Wales or United christian Hospital?

Great to hear from so many of you. I've been wondering about the antenatal classes too. When do I start, where do I go, what type of exercises should I be doing, etc., etc. Since we seem to have quite a few moms now, why don't we set a date to get together some time? There may be some moms who are still feeling a bit sick so why don't we give them some more time to come around and set the date to around October 20 or 21? Give me your opinions and suggestions as to where we should meet. I live on HK island.

hi oct 21 works for me, and i don't mind anywhere on the island. maybe a not so busy coffee shop where it will be easier for girls to come and go? depending on how many people can make it?

21 October is best for me, and lunch is easier than coffee as I am working. But go with whatever is best for everyone!

I'm actually due in March, but not until 21st, and so I may gate crash the April - June group if that is ok with you ladies.

Okay, we'll wait for some more responses and decide sometime next week on exact time and place. I've only been in HK for a little over 6 months and don't know a lot of places so suggestions would be helpful for a nice quiet place for lunch. Thanks girls!

Hi Ladies! I am also due at the end of April :) This is our first child so I would love to meet up with some other new moms to chat. I live on Hong Kong Island in the Mid-Levels. I have to work during the day but am free to meet anytime at 7pm. Let me know what works for everyone else!

Hey Ladies.. I responded earlly on to this thread and then disappeared. I would love to meet up as well. The 20th or 21st on the island would be fine for me at lunch time as I am working too. Or after work on the 20th is good!

As for quiet coffee shops, let's see how many people we get? If its only a few of us we can probably pick a smaller spot ! I can try to think of a few places that would be easy to find for everyone...

Hi All,

I can't do the 21st, but we have a helper starting on Nov 1st so after that I will be able to do coffee / lunch as will be able to leave my 2 year old at home so hope to catch you soon. Pls keep me posted of any plans!

Hi girls meeting up sounds great! I'm ok with 21st or a later date is fine too, also live on HK island side and time very flexible, hope to meet many of you soon :) we can always have more than one meet in case some of us can do afternoon n others evening.

Ladies, I hope everyone is back on their feet and feeling back to normal. I'm feeling much better. I suggested meeting on the 21st but it seems that I may not be able to make it that day. I may need to attend a function with my husband during lunch-afternoon. Why don't you gals who can make it that day get together still. I'm gonna have to pass on the coordinating to someone else. I hope someone can take charge and start up an April 2012 moms gathering. So sad that I won't be able to meet some of you this time but will definintely try to make it out again. Thanks!

I don't mind organising. How about we try lunch on 26th Oct, and hopefully a few of you who couldn't make this week can make it. Let me know if you are in and I'll book somewhere around central. All April - June mums welcome.

Thanks for organizing :) I'm good doing lunch on 26th at 1pm and after, having my doc appointment in central at noon that day, hopefully I will get to find out my baby's sex that very day :)
