I am just wondering if there are any Singaporeans in this forum? :dance: Will be having my first baby in January 2015.

hi all, I'm currently living in singapore and will be moving to hk 1st week of dec. I am doing my c-sec end dec. May i know where you all are delivering? i am confused between the canossa and adventist

hi bunnybaby,

i was in your situation as well. My ob Dr Patrick Chan were able to perform the delivery in both Canossa and Adventist. Depending on your preference, i felt more comforfable after hospital tour in Canossa. It was just newly renovated and it's half way up the peak so you kinda get a good view out from your room. Of course that being said, it is slightly more expensive than Adventist. So you might want to weigh the pros and cons of both :) Hope this information helps.

i am going for the 3 person in a room. for your husband to stay over you will need to select the deluxe or the private room. not too sure if you are aware, the doctor's fee varies when you start selecting rooms that are above 3 bedrooms. so you may want to remember to factor in the additional cost as well.

Am due in early April. Have u decided where u are delivering yet? So r u getting use to HK yet? :) Some of the gals here are busy with their new born and prep to deliver soon, so they might response as fast:)

I will be delivering in Tuen Mun Hospital but will move back to Singapore temporary after 1 month plus cos here nobody help me take care.

I am not use to HK at all.. I really prefer singapore.. in terms of living conditions, food, expenses.. everything here is more expensive... ;(

how long have you been here in HKG? you like HK? you get use alrdy?
 
Oh wow. U r very brave to consider flying the baby at such young age after a month from birth. I would only consider flying after 6 months after all the free major vaccinations in HK.

Could ur mum come over or could u hire a confinement lady to come to stay longer?

I'm here in HK for 9 years now and I kinda like better here actually:) but I did hate it the first year (before I could speak Cantonese)

Hi all, great to see singaporean mums here! I'm one myself but my girls already 17 months old. I came over in feb 2014 when she was past her 6 months and after the major vaccinations. :) and I think you're brave to want to give birth in Hk! It's not the most baby friendly place... I'm holding back my family plans till our assignment here is over...

I have been so busy with my baby that I totally forgotten about the new postings here. He is now 3 months old and is becoming fun to play with.

It's probably time to organize another meetup session if any one is keen.
