Any regular weekly meet-ups for 8-month old?

I am living Kowloon side (East Kowloon) but happy to travel for a regular meetup for my 8-month old daughter. Any groups out there I can join either for weekly coffee or play dates?

Hello mummies,

I am providing free baby massage classes for babies (under one year old). It also consists of parents sharing experiences and meet once every week.
It is happening on Kowloon side in Tsing Yi in a clubhouse once every week, actually i am becoming instructor from International Assoc. of Infant massage, just post a reply if you have interest.

8 month old playgroup

Hi Audlin,

I also have an 8month old daughter and would love to meet up some time.
I just moved here to west Kowloon from Tokyo three weeks ago and don't really know my way around well enough to venture out too far yet but my daughter is getting bored, cooped up in a high rise with just me, the TV and her toys as company.
And I'm getting pretty bored myself. ;)
 
Playgroup

Just wondering if you all organised a playgroup meet up.

My son is coming up on 8 months old and I'd love to find something for him.

I can also recommend another playgroup we go to that's just drop in at USRC.

Please let me know if you would like to meet up as I'm keen to get my happy little boy socialising.

Hi tutor1, my daughter turned 8 months too, I live in mid-levels, and am interested in joining the playgroup and have her socialize and also meet other moms with similar age babies.

Hi Pinkjewel

The regular playgroup is at United services Recreation Club at Jordan. Look at their website at usrc.com (or something like that). They meet Tuesdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 11.30am, cost $60. I'm not sure when they start again for the new year...probably around mid September. Have you found any other groups online? I haven't had any reply to this thread as yet and not sure if the other mothers have got together.

Yes I'm definitely in for weekday playdates! Now we just have to decide where to meet. Maybe USRC first then decide on the revolving venue?

I'm not sure when the group reconvenes as it closed because of the swine flu.

If you'd like to meet up beforehand, let me know a definite time and I'll post it online for all the others who were interested and then we can go swiftly from there.

Yes, I was suggesting a revolving house location but if we can find a public location more permanent, that would be more appropriate for everyone, that would be great too.

Perhaps the first meet might be in Festival Walk, PC?

Hi pinkjewel, we moved to HK couple of weeks ago from London. My son turned 7 months and we will be living in mid-levels (currently in temp. apartment), and I am interested in joining a group for Max to get meet other babies and also for me to meet other mums.
 
I want to join a group too! I am a stay at home mum and my daughter just turned 9 months, we definitely need some company during weekdays! please let me know!
 
How about we meet next Thur (Sep 10) or Sep 16 at Festival Walk PC then? Is 2:30pm good for everyone?

I have a soon 8 month old and live near Jordan in Kowloon. Would love to join a meet up in Kowloon Tong. Would also welcome you to come over for a play date. We have a playroom in our clubhouse which would work well for a get together.

Hi pinkjewel - Max is settling in quite well and coping with the heat/humidity much better than me, I have to say.

I can do 16th, which most people suggested but 1pm does not work for us as Max usually has a nap until 2pm and he would most likely not sleep while travelling. Also, am not sure how long it would take us to get to Festival Walk (not been there yet)?

2:30pm-5pm works better for us

Thanks for the suggestions.

Can we just call it for the 10th at 2.30pm and then go from there?

I think it's a matter of meeting up as soon as we can and discussing what time fits in best with everyone as, at this age, our sleep schedules are never going to match.

Anyone that can't make it that week, can come the next or we can inform them of the time (or changed venue) for the following week...sounds great.
