My daughter is now nearly 8 months old and was born with dislocated hips. She wore a simple brace for 3 months and we thought all was fine. However, a recent visit to the Duchess of Kent revealed her hips are sub-lax. They want to put her under general to do an angiogram (inject a dye into her hips and take an x-ray). The outcome of this may be that they suggest putting her in a spica (a 3/4 length plaster) or doing surgery. Both procedures offer no guarantees.
Has anyone else been through this? Can you recommend a good orthopaedic pediatrician? Any info would be really helpful.
Thanks
