Hi have just been given a bed in a private room at St Pauls Hospital for a December delivery....its not a hospital that anyone has ever mentioned to me so looking for any advice or experiences there.

I plan to breastfeed again and its important to me that a) the nursing staff support this, and b) baby is not whisked off to a nursery but is allowed to bunk in with me the entire time.

Thanks!

Wife not delivering there, but did considered it. At the time, there were forum stories about HK mothers were put together with mums from other cultures and cause some cultural misunderstandings that staff seemed unable to handle properly...

When asking about ensuite breastfeeding, all hospitals said we need to book a private room otherwise the mothers will need to feed in a separate room near their nursury.

Had my (ill) relative housed in St. Paul's recently too. The facilities are what you expect for a private hospital, no complaints from that experience

Hi, I delivered there in December 2011. I was told that I could book a private room ahead of time (I believe only if you have a planned c-section) however, this was not actually the case. In the end, we had a private room, but it took a lot of work on our part as well as my ob. Please pm me, I can share my experience and possibly some advice.

I would also like to hear feedback and experiences (both good and bad) with St Pauls maternity ward too.
I am due early Jan and I have just being told they have a bed for me.
This will be my second and like winniethepug, I am keen to breastfeed.

I am going to take a look next week - also due end Dec/New Year and will ask them about breasfeeding etc and the midwife support.
