Antenatal classes

Hi. I am due in Sep and would like to take an Antenatal class (Matilda? Annerley? Central Health? Other?!) sometime this summer. As you guys are ahead of me I was wondering if you have any recommendations or experiences to share.

Thanks and congratulations!!

Depends on what kind of birth you are hoping for. Generally I think better attend classes that are not affliated to any one hospital as there would be more reason for the hospitals to restrain your options for their conviniance. If you want a natural birth, go for Annerley.

I used Annerley with my first and thought they were fantastic. I did the regular Antenatal classes but they also have hypno birthing. The regular Antenatal went through all of your options and the pros and cons not just natural birth. I also signed up for their five home visits after the birth which was really helpful to me as a first time mom.

Thanks for the comments. I am planning on a natural birth unless there's complications. No need for the pros and cons of a c-section as it's my last resort. Does Annerley include any breathing techniques in their classes?

Brooke at www.yourgravida.com is great, very knowledgeable and comprehensive. She does her best to prep mothers for natural birth, but also covers c-sections as thats always a possibility. Good luck :)
