Another helper's leave question...

My helper's contract is up at the end of May and we have agreed to renew her contract. I know she is entitled to 2 weeks of paid leave and a return ticket back to her home. I am wondering what time frame that has to happen - eg, can she go back now instead? Or in July/August instead? The end of her contract is a really bad time for me as I have to do five weeks full time of prac teaching (I'm usually a SAHM) and need someone to help with the kids. I can't change the dates of my prac teaching...
 
Nicole, there's a form which you can fill up and submit with the new application. if approved, it allows the leave to be taken within a year from renewal date. Ours was approved without questions - we submitted an application giving our reasons for request.

It's called ID 988A - Visa/Extension of Stay Application Form for Domestic Helper from Abroad
 
we just renewed one of our helper's contract at the end of january. we requested that he take leave at easter (his wife, our former helper, is coming from canada and his son is coming from PH). it was just included in the application, i don't recall another form.

it was approved without any question at all.
 
Thanks guys - and the renewal application can only be done 30 days before the contract expires right? I was having a mini heart attack trying to figure out how I would manage everything...
 
they've actually changed it this past year. it used to be within 4 weeks. i believe it's now 6 weeks.
 
thanks, when i was typing i couldn't remember exactly how many it was now.... up until last year it was only 4 weeks
 
Ah thanks so much for that link Mumsy!! I had a look and the official policy on my original question is stated:

At the end of the 2-year contract, the Helper shall return to his/her place of origin for vacation before commencing a new contract. If circumstances do not permit the Helper to return to his/her place of origin for vacation immediately upon expiry of the old contract, subject to mutual agreement with the employer, the Helper may apply for an extension of stay of normally not exceeding 1 year for him/her to defer the home leave.

Second what others have said...our helper finishes her contract next month but we've made arrangements for her to take her leave in July which is both better for her and us. If she takes leave in July she'll get a full month of holiday rather than 2 weeks because we'll also be gone and don't see the point of having her be here when we're not. So, she's more than happy to delay her holiday for a few more months to make that happen. We're in the middle of processing her renewal contract right now.
 
We also need to go through the renewal process for the first time. Please can you let me know if I'm missing anything.

1) we need to pick up a pack from Immigration containing the 4 green employment contracts
2) the contracts have to be notarised by the Philippines Consulate
3) we submit everything (contracts, forms, proof etc.) to Immigration

4) optional - full medical checkup?

We just finished renewing our helper's contract. It's actually not due until April but as above posts said, we were allowed to renew up to two months before.

To be honest, my helper got all the paperwork for us but I remember in addition to the four green contracts (which need to be stamped by the Philippine Consulate), we also had a couple of HK Immig forms (including one the helper needs to fill herself).

Just a reminder that since its for renewal with same helper, you do NOT need to submit proof of income or proof of address with the forms.
 
No we did not have our helper do a full medical again. You can if you like, but it's not required.

Also my helper asked for leave during Easter and even though i already bought the airticket, she told me they never asked to see it. they just gave her a visa sticker in her passport that says she has conditional one year stay unless she travels within this year, in which case her stay is automatically extended for a second year.
 
My helper renewed her visa nov 2015 but she have to visa since she was not going back to her ,but in this July she is going to take her holiday so does she have to go somewhere else again on nov 2016 ?

Hi, she needs to exit 1 time within the first year, and does not need to exit again in November, 2016
