Agency Quotes

I was under the impression that getting an agency to do a direct hire (we know the helper, she's in a contract, wants to terminate and start with us) would cost around the $3 - 3,5K mark but one agency quoted me over $6K. It's an agency that has had lots of positive feedback and seems reliable though. Another agency quoted us half of that, at the $3000 price range we were originally expecting.

Any advice or experience?

Thank you

Thanks Carang. I didn't think so. I wonder why they quoted this much? So many members on here have said this Agency was great. I'll copy and paste the relevant part of the email: "check or cash to pay your agency fee. ($4900) + Phil. Mandatory Insurance ($1116) ,total of $6016"

Now, this helper we want to hire will have to go back to the Philipines and wait for her new visa there. Is this why?

We maybe talking abt the same agency here. Last yr, they quoted us 5k + to do the same. We ended up not hiring the person instead we chose our current helper from their pool.

U can def get it done within 3-3.5k. We have checked with other friends.

Did a direct hire from Indonesia, also paid $3K to the local agency to take care of paperwork. Helper stayed at the Indonesian training facilities until her visa is ready.

You prob need to pay the 1k insurance on top of the 3k fee even with the cheaper agency

Yes, the approx 1k Philippines Mandatory " Insurance" fee is likely on top of any agency fees. It is a relatively new requirement from the Ph government...
