Advice on Prince of Wales and registering...

Hi guys,

My husband and I are preparing for our first baby! I'm 9 weeks along and want to know if anyone knows what the catchment area is for registering with Prince of Wales hospital? (We live in Fanling).

Also what is the process for registering and what do I need to bring along? Is it too late at week 9 for me to register and get a bed space? At the moment I've been going to see a private OBGY doctor who is with St Teresa but the doctor sees 3 patients at the same time and is always rushed, I feel I have no time to ask him anything at all and he's not very detailed at explaining anything.

Any other info would be greatly appreciated!!
 
I registered at POW when I was 6 months having just arrived Hong Kong.

From what I recall, you will need:
1) referral letter from Dr - I suspect, and I could be wrong, this is what got me in POW despite the fact that I wasn't within the catchment
2) utility bill
3) copy of passport & visa (if you are dependent on your spouse, bring spouse's passport too)
4) HKID

There could be more but best to call them to ask what other documents you need & the process.
