advice on 12 week scan

Hi ladies, hoping you can help...

I used to live in Hong Kong but moved to Manila at the beginning of the year. Anyway I need to have a 12 week scan and they don't do them here in Manila (being catholic), so I am coming to Hong Kong to have it. So my question is do I need to see my GP (in HK) first to get a referral to an OB or can I just go to a hospital and book a scan and testing in? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi you don't need a referral to see an OB. Above is the link of Drs in HK.

You can search the forums for info on each Dr.

Slightly silly question but - why does being Catholic mean they don't give you a scan?

happiness - I think she is referring to the Down Syndrome test which includes a scan. Part of the reason some people do this test is so they have the option to abort if they discover any genetic problems. Hence it probably wouldn't be carried out by most catholics.
