Advice needed on switching public hospitals

I just registered at QEH last week, but I'm very early along and my midwife intake isn't until the end of the month.

I hadn't considered PYNH because I don't live in their catchment area. But I recently found out that they did allow someone who lives near me to register there last year (even knowing where she lived).

My questions - has anyone switched public hospitals without having proof of change of address? Or does anyone know if the hospitals use a unified registration database (i.e. for the entire HA, not just the individual hospital)? In other words, could I just register at PYNH and then call QEH and tell them that I've chosen another hospital (since they have no records except for my initial registration)?

Thanks so much!
