First time pregnant, new to HK, and I am at a lost what to do!

I managed to go to a local doctor to get a referral letter to say I am pregnant. I took the second step today, which is to register the pregnancy at the local public hospital. I registered at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.

I am 4 weeks now and my next appointment, Antenatal Assessment, will be on 5th November, by which time i will be 8 weeks pregnant. Is this normal?

I was expecting the next appointment much sooner than that.

(The nurse gave me a piece of paper "Procedure for Antenatal New Case Booking Clinic", which includes blood taking, interview by nurses etc. I was expecting a bit more antenatal care than just those listed.)

sometimes it's not until 11 weeks! so, yes, completely normal. not much they can do when you are only 4 weeks. you might want to buy some folic acid and multi-vitamins until your appt though.

Hi Hammie

Yes this is normal. As Carang say not much they can do this early, the test at 8 weeks are normal and just for their info, they will get you back in later on to do more and then check ups every 4 weeks.
I am registered at PYNEH too, if you have any questions please feel free to PM me.
