We are looking for family holiday accommodation tips for any of the above location. We have a 3 yro and a 12mth old looking to be close to beach and family friendly restaurants. Can be a stand alone villa or large hotel complex. Any tips appreciated. We have been to Phuket & Bali however not with the children we have not been to Cebu so not sure if that is worth and also safe?

Thanks

My top tip is don't hire a villa with a pool. We made that mistake a couple of years ago and then spent 2 weeks living in fear that our one year old or three-year-old would fall in the pool. Very, very difficult to find a villa with a fenced-off pool.

We have also stayed in a 'villa' (aka, 2-bed apartment) at the JW Marriott, which is very child-friendly but a little isolated.

This October we're staying at Layan Gardens Apartments - we now have four children (aged 6 to 0) and it looks perfect for us. We can easily accommodate our helper (the apartments have a helper's room), there are lots of restaurants nearby that pick up in golf carts, it's a 3-min drive to Layan Beach and about 10 mins to Bang Tao Beach. The apartment complex has a couple of pools, a golf pitch-and-putt and BBQ area.

I would definitely recommend the Bang Tao area or Surin area - nice beaches and lots of restaurants.
