Accommodation - who pays?

I have a new helper starting in March. Her original (but unconfirmed) release date from her current employer was to be mid-March but that has now been brought forward to early March when we will be away. Do I need to pay for her temporary accommodation until we return and she can start with us? If so, does anyone have any suggestions as to where to put her up?
Many thanks.

She should probably go home. It's a chance for her to use any leave owed to her and see her family. For helpers who finish their contract, immigration requires that they return to their country of origin. The ex-employer should give her a ticket home and the new employer (ie you) should give her a ticket to come back.
Solves the accomodation problem too.

Probably should have mentioned that her current contact has been cut short (she has only worked for 7 months with them). Is the other employer still required to give her a ticket home?

yes, even if she is terminated the employer is obligated to pay her ticket back home...there are boarding houses all over HK..i know of some in Sheung Wan and wanchai in hK Island where she could stay.

Yes the employer has to pay the ticket for whatever reason. Our first maid was homesick and insisted on going home after just 2 months and we had to pay for her ticket back home.
