Hello,
I know this is early posting but would be good to know if anyone feeling the same as me!

I'm 6weeks and every day feels like a hangover day!;(
I'm due my first ultrasound at week seven. Would be good to know what to expect!
If anyone free, I'm always up for a mocktail, chat, cuppa whatever. I'm based in Olympic but work in central most days xx

Ha Ha, hang in there Lucy.
As to the ultrasound at seven weeks, the baby will be no bigger than about 1 cm. There will be a pregnancy or gestational sac in your uterus and there should also be a yolk sac within the main sac (so we usually see 2 circles one bigger and another smaller one next to the fetus).
If you have booked in our HA's government hospital, you will be booked to undergo an "OSCAR" down syndrome screening with both blood tests from you and an ultrasound to measure the skin fold thickness behind your baby's neck around 11 to 13 weeks.
Sex can only be determined with ease after 16 weeks but may be deduced after 14.
Although alcohol is allowable in pregnancy, a very modest intake (1 or 2 standard glasses or cans of beer per 1-2 weeks) or a teetotalling attitude would be best. Besides you don't wanna have more hangovers than you already to, right?
Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Lucy
My nausea started around week 5 and still going strong now at week 10! Yes it feels like a hangover everyday with some days being extremely awful. Would be great to meet n chat!

Hi Lucy
I'm due in late May so we're very close in terms of due date. I also live in Olympic and would love to meet to chat. I haven't told anyone about my pregnancy yet (besides my husband) so would be good to share my thoughts and stories! I have mild nausea and feel tired easily nowadays.

Hi all

I'm due late April. I sympathise on the hangover feeling - all I seem to be able to eat at the moment is hangover food like bread and pasta, all healthy eating is out the window at the moment! I have my 12 week scan in a few days, can't wait to be able to tell everyone that I'm not just getting fat there is actually a baby in there!

I would love to meet up with people at a similar stage - I have 0 friends who are pregnant or who have kids in HK so would be great to meet some other ladies in the same boat. I' m Sheung Wan/Sai Ying Pun but work in Central.

Hi everyone,

I'm due late May and same, we haven't told anyone yet, apart from my sister in the UK as we had to bail on a ski trip next Feb!

I also live in Sai Ying Pun and would be great to meet up with ppl in the same position, although I'm probably not going to make myself very popular by saying that I haven't had any morning sickness yet, apart from the odd slightly queasy moment!

Hello fellow mamas!

I am due on 1 May, labour day (haha). First baby and i found out at 5 weeks, after a massive weekend of junk boat boozing.

Had my 11 week scan yesterday, because i am travelling to Tokyo for work and wanted to know if everything was alright. It was totally emotional because my 7 week scan was a blob with a heartbeat...the 11 week scan included little feet and hands!

Am pretty much over the horrendous hangover/throwing up/all food is evil phase and am eating 3 meals a day. Gutted i have no cravings but plenty of food aversions. I've also morphed into a mad camel drinking litres of water a day and still parched!

I live in Kennedy Town and work on the island, often trotting around central.

Yeah - bad timing. We've been trying to go skiing in Japan for the last two years but it hasn't worked out each time - although this is so far the best reason for not being able to go :)

Am going down the public hospital route, so wont' have an ob i don't think, and will be going to Queen Mary as that's my closest. You?

Guys, your comments have made things v reassuring!! It's so weird having this huge secret and not being able to tell anyone yet!!! And the worst so far was going to beertopia and sneaking the non alcoholic beers into pint cups!!! It's exhausting:)

We just moved to HK a few months ago so also have limited friends with babies this side of the world.

Shame the ski trips have been cancelled!! I'm going mad trying to plan in hols between now and due date. You can fly right up to about 29weeks, right?!

It's absolutely the best reason! =)

I'm planning to take the 4 bedder in Matilda once we get blood-work done next week and seeing OB Edwin Tam. I considered Queen Mary but my husband was strongly against it for our first.

The one thing i have been doing is investing in any and every stretch mark prevention cream and oil!

Lucyveronica, you made me chuckle. I was drinking a lot of elderflower cordial disguised as white wine at parties so far! The things we do!

I'm not sure about flights - best to check with your ob =)

Ooh I'm booked in with Dr Edwin Tam too! I'm also planning for Matilda but will book once confirmed all looking ok with u/sound.

Oooh what's the go with stretch cream solutions?!! I am keen go throw any money at this problem!!!

I've purchased Elemis Japanese camellia oil - have heard nothing but great things about it! I've also got clarins tonic treatment oil. No sign of a bump yet but id rather be overprepared!

Does anyone work out? I'm in a prenatal Pilates class at flex central tomorrow.

I'm seeing Edwin Tam too! He's fantastic! I'm tossing up between Matilda and sanatorium as it's closer to me.
I've just picked up the mustela double action stretch mark cream after reading some good reviews. let's hope t works. they say I should start using it now to prevent stretch marks later.

I can't go near the office kitchen at all at the moment due to smells... Ugh! Trying to navigate the Halloween / thanksgiving / Christmas season is going to be a nightmare!

I feel you with the smells lilfish. I feel like my new sense of smell is worthy of xmen mutant status.

So many of us are seeing Dr Tam! Very cool! He shared with me that sanitorium has a lot of hidden costs. No one I know personally has delivered there yet but I've heard positive things about Adventist too! I picked Matilda because I visited the wards and was impressed overall.

ah - I have yet to ask him about it. A friend delivered there recently and she loved it. we hadn't discussed pricing though.... I haven't done a tour of either yet - waiting to get past my 7 week appointment with Dr Tam. My husband loves him solely because he wears RM Williams boots - no joke!

seriously though - I went to the gym today and my spot is now by the door and only in sessions where nobody has used the room prior (so no sweat smells)... it's borderline insane - particularly as I'm trying to keep up my HIIT classes which as a rule mean LOTS of sweat and not much aircon!

I keep an aromatherapy roll-on with me wherever I go. Especially for MTR rides! I work out at h-Kore so thankfully the smells are not an issue at all.

very excited to hear how your 7 week appointment will go! Ask loads of questions. I wrote a whole list of both medical and non-medical questions (can I have foot massages?). My next appointment is for the bloodwork and downs tests in a week's time.
